SAXISM grew out of the Corner Pocket Big Band saxophone section. Four players
began rehearsing as a saxophone quartet in late 2008. Along the way there
have been many personnel changes and only two of the original members,
Lindsay Heesom and Kym Gluyas, remain. The current membership came
together in early 2013 with the advent of Schmo (Sylvan Elhay) joining
Kym, Lindsay and Steve Eads who joined the group in 2012. The players come
from a somewhat varied background and the quartet plays a wide variety of
music from classical to jazz.
