What is the Schools Program?
Treat your students to the most enjoyable day out they’ll have all year! The Adelaide Fringe Schools Program provides assistance, benefits and resources to teachers booking memorable Fringe experiences for their students. Through the program, artists offer discounted tickets for schools and free tickets for teachers.
Participating as a School
“We have long understood the benefits that engaging with the arts can have on our students. However, the vast majority of our students lack significant exposure to different art forms. The opportunity to attend a Fringe event has been the highlight of the year for our class over the past two years. This wouldn’t be possible without the equity discount given to schools of a lower category. It allows our school to limit the amount of money we ask of parents, which leads to our students experiencing the richness of the arts at the Adelaide Fringe.”

Equity Tickets
Adelaide Fringe offers Category 1 to 4 schools a $5 Equity discount on each Schools ticket price (or other relevant price) purchased. Fringe artists are subsidised for this discount with funds from Arts Unlimited, Adelaide Fringe's Foundation, through the Community Fund. Thanks to the generosity of the Government of South Australia and our donors in 2024, we were able to engage with more of our community than ever before, with more than 5,700 tickets gifted to disadvantaged community groups reaching 52 organisations and 68 schools groups.
Participating as an Artist
The Adelaide Fringe Schools Program connects artists and youth audiences through the promotion of school-appropriate shows for teachers and children aged between 0-18 years. By joining the Schools Program your show will be promoted directly to schools and teachers.
To be involved, artists are asked to nominate a discounted ticket price for schools and to provide free tickets for teachers as per the Department for Education teacher/student ratio guidelines (usually one or two per school group).
Adelaide Fringe will:
- Halve the Artist Inside Charge (AIC) to 2.5% on all Schools tickets sold
- Waive the $4.80 Transaction Fee when a Schools group is booked
- Provide a Schools Program Coordinator who will oversee all school bookings, invoicing and ticketing enquiries for your show.
Your show will be included in the Kids & Schools Guide, which contains your show and ticketing information and is distributed to every South Australian school in January 2025.
