'Green Tea' is a psychological thriller adapted from the original 19th century work by J. Sheridan Le Fanu. Narrated by the philosophic physician, Dr Martin Hesselius, it explores the strange case of the Reverend Mr Jennings, a man living with an unnatural affliction, in a timeless portrayal of mental fragility.

Winner of the 2018 Standout Actor award from the Sydney Fringe Festival, 'Green Tea' is a must see.

Graduating from QUTs acting degree in 2007, Townson has spent his time working in both theatre and TV. The show Green Tea was created by Townson, after adapting the piece from J. Sheridan Le Fanu’s 1871 original thriller.
Green Tea is one of the ‘In a Glass Darkly’ series of stories Le Fanu wrote based on the life and work of the protagonist Dr Martin Hesselius.

Townson comes to writing and adaptation after being indentured by the late Bille Brown AM, where the two created a theatrical sequel to Oscar Wilde’s masterpiece ‘A portrait of Mr W.H.
Brown passed away shortly after the completion of the work and consequently the show was never performed.
Green Tea is a dedication to the life of Bille Brown
