The Space, a branch of Fifth Business Theatre Company, are excited to announce the South Australian premiere of WHERE WORDS ONCE WERE by Finegan Kruckemeyer. Kruckemeyer is an Adelaide-based playwright who’s some 101 commissioned plays have been performed all over the world, translated into eight languages and won him numerous awards. 

Set in a dystopian time where language is rationed, a sentence can get you sentenced and the silent are rising, our young hero Orhan discovers that a word can change the world. This is the story of a City which allows finite words, a boy possessing few, a girl afforded none. Forbidden from meeting, they meet. Forbidding from questioning the rules, of course, as heroes, heroines, teenagers, they do.

Fifth Business is an inclusive, collaborative theatre company that offers a range of training and performing opportunities for actors of all ages. This includes a platform for skilled adult actors to explore and perform new material. Fringe 2023 will see the South Australian premier of a challenging and thought-provoking work of theatre by Finegan Kruckemeyer, an Australian playwright with 100 commissioned plays performed on six continents and in six languages. This production will be directed by Janet Fletcher.
