Dive
in!! and immerse yourself in an otherworldly sound experience at the
swimming pool!
Moving
in and out of the water, the water surface becomes a threshold
between two different sound worlds and two entirely different
listening experiences.
Underwater, the sound is intimate and incredibly detailed. Look below and you will see sub-aqueous performances in the depths of sound and imagination, as the bottom of the pool becomes a stage for exploration.
Having toured swimming pools in Europe this is a rare opportunity to catch Wet Sounds at its only Australian shows.
Music by Joel Cahen
Swimwear a must! Goggles recommended.
★ ★ ★ ★ ★ "..a sound experience to dive for!" - Channel 4
★ ★ ★ ★ ★ "...It's astonishingly immediate, inescapable, and faintly perplexing" - The Guardian ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ “ ... below the water, harmonies can turn haunting.... Here submerged in sound, the audience get to be in control” – BBC Television News ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ “...Swimming in water that carries an audible dimension is immensely pleasurable. Noise surrounds you physically. It is both highly individualising as you are wholly immersed in your own senses without the possibility of communication, and extensive as it carries your awareness out across the expanses of your environment... Exploring sound through a co-ordinated fluid, weightless movement. I suspect that it was rather like being in the womb.” - Mizled Youth
