Gemma Caruana in front of a pink back-drop. She can be seen from the waist up, wearing a yellow, lacey bra and dangly, shiny earrings shaped like the lobes of the breast. She has a shocked or embarrassed look on her face.
Gemma performing Underwire holding a microphone while speaking. She wears a black, sheer top and is lit by a spotlight. Connor who is holding a guitar looks on from behind the piano on side stage.

You know the saying “you can’t have too much of a good thing”? Well, that’s bullsh*t.

Gemma Caruana has always been identified by two big things: her incredible sense of humour and her massive jugs. Was it the ungodly weight of the breast tissue or the weight of societal expectations put on women that made Gemma say, “enough is enough”? Tits, womanhood and hereditary burden, this (now) well-proportioned Maltese titan of comedy and song will guide you through what it means to be cursed by what so many others desire.

After the roaring success of her Melbourne Fringe season in 2022, Gemma is bringing 'Underwire' to her hometown, a show that took her whole life to grow, then chop off.

Presented by: Mover's Call Theatre Company

Mover’s Call Theatre Company is a new production company made up of three graduates from the Ballarat Arts Academy (2020 alumni).
After the successful 2022 season of 'Fruitcup' by Chanda Anderson Prior, MCTC was created to further amplify the voices of writers’ new works.

Mover’s Call exists to facilitate emerging artists by providing a platform for collaboration, development and experience. We believe in a shared theatrical experience through learning from our colleagues and approaching new works with heart and passion.

We hope to contribute to the ripple effect of destigmatising groups, subject matter and people through our works, helping to develop a more inclusive and true-to-life theatre industry in Australia.
