South Australia's first drive-in, pop-up, socially distanced dance work bringing audiences back to live performance in a COVID-safe manner!

'Traffic' is a 25 minute performance featuring eight South Australian dancers, accompanied by an original live score played by local rock band, Indiago. An innovative method of performance delivery and audience engagement, is an entirely contemporary performance for our current zeitgeist. The work will be performed outdoors in the round to an audience of up to forty cars!

"The lighting and stage-effect accuracy is simply brilliant... it demonstrates the greatness of what's to come within the genre of dance theatre." DanceGround.com, London

Lewis Major is a choreographer from the deep south of regional South Australia. Growing up driving tractors and not having set foot in a theatre until his mid-teens, he finds it ironic to now be working in the most maligned and misunderstood sector of the arts industry: Contemporary Dance. He is the only dance artist he’s ever heard of who can shear a sheep, has danced alongside Hugh Jackman and travelled to all three axis-of-evil countries. Lewis cut his teeth working with luminaries of the European dance scene Akram Khan, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Russell Maliphant, Shaun Parker, Hans van Den Broeck/Cie Soit, Hofesh Shechter and was a founding member of Aakash Odedra Company. His work remains in repertoire of companies around the world and has been presented on all 6 continents.
