The Tale of Red Molly

Following a sell-out show at the 2018 Umbrella Festival, preceded by somewhat less triumphant blacked and rained out performances at the Cygnet Folk and Semaphore Music Festivals, Empty Swing return optimistically in 2019 to present a re-imagining of the life of the enigmatic Red Molly -- Richard Thompson's enduring and influential artistic protagonist. Empty Swing will profer a musical tale of her heroic life told via tunes spanning Richard Thompson's stellar, five decade, ever evolving music career and smatterings from their fourth CD - Dead Beat Poets - a live recording paying homage to master wordsmiths including Shakespeare, Blake, Whitman and Rich and celebrating the transcending beauty of verse and jive.
