The Queen, Shakespeare and Me
Affectionate musical comedy tribute to a thoroughly modern, fully empowered female role model – a woman who headed up a country & united a commonwealth for more than 70 years, earning respect, admiration & love from around the world.
This colourful lady head-of-state reveals her ‘all’ to her people – her undying love for her corgis, the men in her life, her success at peace-brokering, with a surprise coming-out at 96. "Age cannot wither her, nor custom stale her infinite variety".
Join Her Majesty for tea, cake & biscuits & a gracious glimpse into unseen aspects of her life, with participation, Shakespeare, SingalongaLiz & quiz. We may mourn the end of an era, but HM would not have wished us to be miserable. “A solid, warm performance with delightfully silly moments” ★★★ The Reviews Hub

From a London family of serial joke-tellers, began performing while putting on shows for local children at age 6. Appearing in group & solo shows (song/dance/theatre/comedy) for 40+ years, has taken her 1-woman musical comedy shows to Brighton, Edinburgh, Faversham, Wandsworth, Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne, Boulder, Auckland & Whangarei Fringes, Fringe World Perth & S Africa’s National Arts Festival. A former teacher/translator/interpreter she professes to speak a number of foreign languages, specialising in Gibberish and Double-Dutch. Made redundant at 50, was unable to repair her tattered career & save for the elusive pension Jim Chalmers would advise. 20 years on, she is telling jokes and singing for her supper, heeding the UK government’s advice by re-skilling for a life in the theatre!
