TABOO

Theatre and Physical Theatre
Austria • Australian Premiere
Based on a true story the two-women-show gives a chilling glimpse into the world of a little known but influential woman from the Nazi era in Germany. The social worker Kathe Petersen was graded an innocent bystander in the trials following the Third Reich and never had to answer to her crimes committed during WWII. In the contrary, she was awarded with accolades and honors until her death in 1981. In the setting of a Talk-Show, she is now confronted with the voices of her victims for the very first time.

TABOO questions female cliches, female sexual self-determination as well as the double standards of society back then as well as today. The audience is invited to a talk-back right after the show with writer and performer Karin Schmid.
