Sweet Home Songs
Join award-winning songwriters Doctor D, Fergus Maximus & Marta Bayly in a historic setting for an intimate acoustic performance of original South Aussie songs and stories reflecting on the theme of home.
Born from the sell-out Adelaide Fringe shows SWT_HM_ADL and Sweet Home SA, Sweet Home Songs celebrates our people, places and culture, with a nod to history and a dose of self-deprecating humour. From amusing trivia to the deeply personal, discover the exploits of Annie Ross, one of our first female police officers based in Port Adelaide, the 1931 beef riot, the joys of beach life and wine consumption (lots), the O-Bahn, love and friendship across the continents, the fate of beloved music venues and iconic department stores, and the (re)naming of the city’s streets.

Presented by: Doctor D and Fergus Maximus
Blues-rock guitarist Doctor D and saxophonist-vocalist-storyteller Fergus Maximus are multi-award-winning songwriters based in Adelaide. First working together in the sell-out Adelaide 2021 Fringe Show SWT_HM_ADL, they followed up with Sweet Home SA in 2022, delighting audiences with amiable on-stage personalities, engaging storytelling and music that sweetly blends rock, blues, folk and pop with lyrics ranging from deeply reflective and emotional to hilarious. For Sweet Home Songs they are joined by Marta Bayly, a talented singer/songwriter best known as part of The Good Questions band or the duo Andy & Marta. In demand as a harmony vocalist, Marta has worked with Courtney Robb, Don Morrison, Paula Standing, and, most recently, on the debut album from Fergus and Doctor D, Back in ADL
