sore-tooth
'sore-tooth' embodies the collaboration between Asha Southcombe and Martina Beka, as residents of Fab Workshop and Studios. Through the use of leather, paper, and metal, their works engage in a shared occupation of space, shaped and enhanced through meticulous processes. While the final pieces appear solid, the materials themselves are fragile in their development—easily discarded, destroyed, or mishandled. This exhibition emphasises the raw essence of these materials, transformed through countless hours of repetitive and meditative practice, culminating in their final forms.
Asha’s practice is based in mark-making, both as a communicator of deeper research and a form of process in itself. Martina explores the intersection between materiality and self, realised by using found materials.
This exhibition is supported by Adelaide Fringe X Fab Workshop and Studio.
