Rhapsody in Chicago Blues, "Piano" Tim Barton
Presented by: Tim Barton
"I've always felt privileged to have been raised a musician in Chicago." Earliest influence? Count Basie. "His simple, swinging jazz feel appealed to me as a child." 8 years with Catholic nuns and 6 years with Jesuits interspersed with 14 years of piano lessons, 6 years organ, 3 years accordion and 4 years band provided many lessons for growth. The Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Chicago - "The home of the blues", the singular Chicago Jazz scene along with folk, roots rock and life in the late 60's and early 70's gave Tim a wondrous emersion in musical influence, allowing him to create a “Language through the piano”, speaking all sounds of music. Released 5 CD's, published composer, web-designer and traveler, Tim enjoys life and is grateful for his long, 55 year, career as a pianist.
