Immerse yourself in the stunning art and garden of Nora Heysen at this exclusive two hour event at The Cedars, Hahndorf. As the first female winner of Australia's renowned art award, The Archibald Prize, Nora Heysen found great joy in nature and many of her beautiful flower and fruit works were inspired by pickings from the Artist's Garden at The Cedars. Join us for a guided tour of the stunning Nora Heysen Exhibition, "Bloom: Nora Heysen's art and garden", with exhibition curator Jill Swann, followed by a guided tour through the beautiful and expansive Cedars' Artist's Garden with Cedars' curator and garden expert, Allan Campbell. Dig deep into Nora's life and joy of nature and the influence the natural world had on her throughout her life.

Located in the historic town of Hahndorf in the Adelaide Hills, The Cedars is the iconic estate of renowned Australian artist Sir Hans Heysen (1877-1968) and his family, including accomplished artist daughter, Nora Heysen (1911-2003). The house and studios are lovingly retained with the original furniture, collections and artwork of the Heysen family. Visitors to The Cedars can tour the beautiful historic home and heritage-listed studios of both Hans and Nora Heysen, delight in the beautiful and extensive Artist’s Garden (the only original one of its kind in Australia), immerse themselves amongst the magnificent gums on the property and relax in the Cedars Café & Tea Rooms.
