MUMS BEHIND THE MASKS
Mums behind the Masks brings to the stage true pandemic stories from Australia and around the globe. A South Australia premiere of a Drama with elements of comedy.
Characters include abandoned Mums, adult kids and their eternal conflicts.
The year is 2021; while the entire world is shutting down due to a deadly pandemic, three mischievous mums from diverse cultural backgrounds decide to challenge the invisible assassins and manipulative family members with their wit, grit and courage. A philosophical and quirky narrative that reflects how Mums grew and reinvented themselves through the pain and laughter during the Pandemic and post-pandemic. This is a story about friendship and camaraderie.
An hour-long play that also includes a short film.
Presented by: Paramita Roy
Paramita was born and grew up in Kolkata, India; before migrating to Australia, she worked and lived in Papua NewGuinea, Canada, and Saudi Arabia. Paramita studied directing at NIDA, and AFTRS (Sydney). She is passionate about writing and performing arts. In addition, Paramita enjoys travelling around the globe, and that's how she gathers her story ideas. Paramita currently lives in Adelaide.
