'Meltdown' is an anthology of stories built into an immersive theatre experience, exploring humanity and connection through the voices of young people. 'Meltdown' was inspired by conversations with students during the COVID-19 pandemic. This production is in partnership with Ruby Award winning company D'faces of Youth Arts and is performed by regional artists aged 11-18.

'Meltdown' was written with funding from the Department of Premiere and Cabinet in 2020 by regional theatre maker Michal Hughes.

This is not a seated performance - this show will be a mobile immersive experience.

Michal is a young regional artist, whose practice revolves around community arts and theatre making. Michal has extensive experience in devised theatre, workshop facilitation, and independent festival curation and programming. Michal is a published playwright, and has written and produced many plays for and about young people with a focus on regional stories. Michal has a passion for providing valuable arts experiences to other young people and creating innovative and experimental work, and believes strongly in the transformative power of the arts.
