LIFE ALONE - Michele da Costa doing the classic Home Alone pose with her hands on her cheeks and a surprised expression

LIFE ALONE

Comedy • Stand-up
Victoria • World Premiere

Twice-divorced and back for more, Michele da Costa returns with her second solo show, asking herself what kind of elderly lady she wants to be - the 'which ex-spouse was that, the 4th or the 5th?' kind; or if she'll adopt 15 more cats that’ll eat her when she dies.

Michele’s here to unpack some baggage – the romantic, the emotional, and the physical. With loveable personality, and an unabashed approach to difficult subjects, she spins an hour of distinctive yet playful stand-up comedy.

Directed by award-winning Neptune Henriksen.

“Clever, witty and more than a little bit naughty… raunchy and sweet in equal parts” Weekend Notes

“An endearing personality… wonderful stage presence” ArtsHub

Presented by: Michele da Costa

Michele da Costa is a stand-up comedian, dancer, and digital designer from Brazil, relocated to Melbourne via New Zealand in 2019, just in time to enjoy a new life in lockdown.

For 6 years, she’s been honing her stand-up, starting in NZ in 2017, where she was a Raw semi-finalist twice (2017/18). And post-lockdown, she made it to the Raw state semifinals for Victoria, in 2022.

In 2023, she debuted her first solo show, Like A Virgo, directed by Tash York and choreographed by Bella Dejac. This show was part of Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Melbourne Fringe, receiving glowing reviews.
