Laurie Black: Dystopiano

Cabaret • Music
United Kingdom • Adelaide Fringe Premiere

Emerging Artist of Adelaide Fringe 2018 Laurie Black invites you to a knees up ‘round the pianna (ahem, Microkorg).  Fresh from a UK tour supporting Adam Ant, she’s jumpstarting musical comedy and cabaret with synths and sick beats.

Classically-trained pianist turned electronic-industrial "cabaret queen" (EdFest Mag), Laurie has been described as the “love-child of Victoria Wood and Gary Numan” (British Theatre Guide).

You may also know her as the boss of Fringe favourite Bad Luck Cabaret, or as keys player in Anya Anastasia's Rogue Romantic many moons ago.

★★★★ "The songs span jaunty, ethereal and rocked-out registers, from space dream to grunge pastiche" The Scotsman

★★★★★  "A badass who will mesmerise you with her enchanting voice" Weekend Notes
