In 2018, when BBC Culture polled experts around the world to find
literature's most enduring narrative, the Odyssey topped the list. Iliad and Odyssey, were written 2700 years ago by Homer.

Now in it’s 5th year, in Loucas Loizou's adaptation, Odysseus is an old man, living in his country the Greek Island of Ithaca. People gather in his
courtyard every afternoon to listen to the stories and songs of the Trojan war, the Cyclops, the underworld, Circe, the suitors, Penelope and Calypso who forces him to be her lover for seven years and more.

Loucas with his original songs will teach you how to overcome your
problems by counting your blessings and sing along with him.

Loucas Loizou, a Cypriot refugee, has performed over 2000 shows in London between 1974 and 1981 after Cat Stevens gave him his first job singing in his family's restaurant.

Loucas Loizou was born in Cyprus to Greek parents. He studied classical guitar and Pianoforte with the London’s Trinity College of Music.

He studied theatre directing with NIDA in Sydney and Film with the Radio and the Film school in Sydney.

He worked with the BBC in London and with the CyBC TV in Cyprus. He appeared in numerous TV and radio programmes including the ABC.

While on holidays in London in 1974, Turkey invaded Cyprus and occupied his hometown in the Northern part of the Island.
