An image of a person standing up with their arms in the air, and two legs poking up in the air. There is a pile of long paper covering the floor and the person with their legs in the air.

Especially on Birthdays

• Theatre
South Australia
A wildly imaginative image-theatre performance for 3-10 year olds and families, Especially on Birthdays recreates all the joys, excitement and concerns of a pair of twins and a birthday that one of them doesn't want to have. Presented by The PaperBoats, winner of Adelaide Fringe Award 2020 - Best Children's Event.

"Children are arguably a much tougher audience than adults, but the joy in The Space Theatre at The Festival Centre was palpable for every minute of the 45 minute performance of Especially on Birthdays. Other than chortling and belly laughs from the multi-aged audience, you could hear a pin drop. No wriggling, no chattering, no interruptions. Only the sound of the excited intake of breath as the audience waited for the next piece of enchantment." Jude Hines - Review
