ElectroPopped! Rise of the 80s Synthesizer
After a sold out 2023 Fringe season, 'ElectroPopped! Rise of the 80s Synthesizer' is back again!
‘Engaging, unique and exciting: ElectroPopped! explores the New Wave Synthpop music phenomena that took the world by storm in the early 80’s through a blend of live music, multimedia and story telling. Inspired by the Synthesizer-infused sounds of the time, ElectroPopped! is a sing and dance-along spectacular!’
With music from legendary artists such as The Eurythmics, Duran Duran, The Human League, Depeche Mode, and Spandau Ballet it was music that defined the early 80's.
Fringe cabaret artiste extraordinaire Teresa de Gennaro (creator of shows such as 'Alien in LA' and 'EuroDiva') joins forces with Adelaide live band favourites 'Follow That Car' (aka Dr Teeth), as they bring the New Wave Synthpop era back to life.
A show for all ages!
Presented by: FollowThatCar
Having emerged from Adelaide's underground funk scene in the mid 2000’s, Follow That Car grew a reputation for delivering an entertaining mix of original old skool funk and contemporary disco house grooves.
The band now have completed their musical metamorphosis to Electro pop. Having grown up as 80’s kids, all its members have a strong love for vintage electronica sounds.
“Playing and collaborating with a bunch of guys who are so passionate about music is great, the dynamics within the band are fantastic and I think it really shows when we're performing live”. says lead vocalist Michael de Gennaro
Made up of vocals, drums, bass, guitar and multiple synth’s, Michael believes the band has always had “just the right ingredients in its sound”.
