Dysfunctional Family Jukebox
A disco trauma dump, exploring mental illness, domestic violence and Queer-awakening through comedy and music. Come meet the kookiest members of Freddie's family tree, including Cousin Mike the Public Masturbator. The all original track-list includes "I Know I'm a Good Mother Because My Children Aren't Gay" and "Smacking my Kids". This show is brought to you by Freddie Arthur (Crackpot Comedy) and her mentor, award-winning director, Marcel Blanch-de Wilt.
Presented by: Freddie Arthur
Freddie is a comedian and MC, originally from Mildura and now based in Melbourne. She draws on lived experience to explore difficult topics such as domestic violence, mental illness and Queer-phobia. Two years ago, due to chronic PTSD and OCD, Freddie was struggling to leave her own house. Then she started stand-up comedy which has been instrumental in helping her accept her own Queer identity and mental health struggles.
In 2024 she produced and hosted the sold-out Queer compilation show, Crackpot Comedy at Melbourne International Comedy Festival. She performed as part of the Gala show at the 2024 Bendigo Comedy Festival, and in over 30 shows at the 2024 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
