'Demolishing the Oats' by Oliver Mills - An abstract painting with irregularly shaped areas of blue, black, green and orange on a white canvas. The application of paint is visible giving the composition movement. The paint is thicker in some areas making it appear raised on the surface.

'Demolishing the Oats' by Oliver Mills

South Australia • World Premiere

Oliver is an artist living with Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy who has been making art and poetry for ten years. There are many day-to-day challenges but Oliver defies the odds. He works closely with mentors and movement and communication specialists to make the most of each day, and to make as much art as possible.

This new exhibition showcases some of his career highlights, and an exciting new tangent that brings together his passion for poetry and mark-making, developed through visual exploration of a new word or letter each day.

Furthermore, Demolishing the Oats is symbolic. It relates to Oliver's life - when he is able to demolish his oats, he is having a good day.
