Theatre and Physical Theatre • International

Inspired by Lorca’s The House of Bernarda Alba and the Chinese classic Thunderstorm, this intercultural and dual language play is centred around two families, one from the East and one from the West. With both families deeply rooted in cultural tradition, our story explores the psychological and physical destruction of women as a result of systemic oppression. Characters from different cultures are subjected to domineering parents whose trauma and control transcends generations. The non linear narrative is presented in the style of physical theatre with elements of expressionism. Experience two influential modern classics in which the outcomes for women are reimagined through a more optimistic and hopeful lens.
