Brief Encounters was developed by Platform Academy in the 2017 Fringe, where we created an opportunity that allowed performers to create a small show of their own while being mentored and fully supported! The artists are backed by a full band and design the beginning of what could be an entire album, a full cabaret show, or an amazing gig. Each artist receives guidance, portfolio material and workshops from industry professionals along the way in all aspects of performance.
This year we are proudly in The Warehouse! Platform Productions home and pop up venue. Relax in this urban but comfy atmosphere; you'll enjoy an evening filled with great wine, a huge array of artistry and music through this entertainment feast of emerging artists that is BRIEF ENCOUNTERS!

Platform Academy was founded in 2013, by the highly acclaimed teacher and performer, Kim Spargo, to develop a unique interdisciplinary and collaborative program which expands the opportunities and experiences available to emerging artists in Adelaide. Since then Platform has gone from strength to strength establishing annual involvement in Adelaide’s Fringe Festival, workshops with Industry professionals, high-level courses in Audition Preparation & Music Industry, Music Theatre Classes, Individual lessons in vocals, dance, drama, stagecraft, song-writing, theory and full-scale stage productions and performances. This opportunity to enables students to create a small show of their own while being supported/mentored by industry professionals.
