Bitch On Heat

Theatre and Physical Theatre • Performance Art
SA Premiere
Expect a steamy hot mess in this new work by psycho-siren Leah Shelton (Terror Australis, La Clique), directed by UK performance art provocateur Ursula Martinez.

This decadent banquet of lethal lip-synch, dark comedy and anti-burlesque is a pop-fuelled critique of sexual politics in the age of implied consent. Forget your obedience training and come revel in a twisted rehashing of the vintage sexism that drives how we live and love and fight and f*ck.

Welcome to the doghouse. Beware. This Bitch bites.

Praise for Terror Australis:
"hilarious, unsettling, visually spectacular - a must see." ★★★★1/2 Gutter Culture.
WINNER Adelaide Fringe Innovation Award, Matilda Awards Best Set Design, Darwin Fringe Best Cabaret.
NOMINEE Green Room Awards, Best Contemporary & Experimental Performer.

Presented by: Leah Shelton

Australian performance artist Leah Shelton’s work sits in the sweet spot between alt-cabaret, physical theatre, and performance art. As a solo artist, Leah creates stylized, guttural, unashamedly feminist work soaked in cult references and dark humour. She spent over a decade working in the intense Suzuki Actor Training Method in Brisbane and Japan, and has graced the cabaret stages of La Clique (Edinburgh, Brighton) and Vegas Nocturne (Las Vegas). Leah is Co-Director of artist collective Polytoxic, one of the most prominent contemporary Pacific theatre companies in Australia, and is currently touring her award-winning solo work, Terror Australis.
