Presented by: Adelaide Wind Orchestra

Adelaide Wind Orchestra is a collective of some of Adelaide's finest wind instrumentalists forming a unique ensemble - shocking to some - an orchestra without strings. The wind orchestra, whilst thriving in popularity overseas, is just coming to the fore in Australia and we are delighted to be at the forefront of the Australian scene with recent collaborations with industry leaders such as the Sydney Conservatorium's Dr. John Lynch. The concept must be heard to be believed, leave your preconceptions at the door.

Formed in 2012, our goal has been to bring new sounds to Adelaide audiences through the wind ensemble medium. Our performances have been described as "ever inventive" (The Advertiser) and "world class" (The Barefoot Review), and 2017 looks to be the most exciting year yet as we collaborate with multiple interstate conductors and performers, deliver a World Premiere and four Australian Premieres, whilst heavily promoting local compositions.
