Lucy, a white person with short light brown hair and blue eyes, looks back over their left shoulder at the camera. She is standing in front of a window with her right hand flattened against the glass. Only gray light and indistinct shapes can be seen through the frosted glass.
In the foreground, Lucy stands looking quizzically down at several sheets of paper she's holding. Behind them is a black stage, and behind that a black curtain. There's a large black box on the stage, with more paper visible on top of it.
Lucy, wearing a black coat, is hunkered in a half-kneeling position on a stage. They're holding a pile of papers in their right hand and turning over their left shoulder. There's a look of anticipation on her face, as though she's about to spring to her feet.

Autoeulogy

Theatre and Physical Theatre • Contemporary
South Australia

Yes, the world has ended. Yes, the last surviving human is hunkered in a bunker with enough chickpeas to last one (1) lifetime. But they're going to keep hope alive. They're going to reach the aliens. They're going to think of such a good ending for the show.

Autoeulogy first premiered in the 2020 Adelaide Fringe - you know, just before the world ended. It returns in 2022, following an intensive period of redevelopment with the support of a Breakout Residency from The Mill, an Arts & Culture grant from the City of Adelaide and an Artist Grant from the Fringe. The world has changed - have we?

Written and performed by Lucy Haas-Hennessy. Direction, design and dramaturgy from the inimitable Mary Angley.
