Ăn cơm
'Ăn cơm' or simply 'Eat rice’ means much more than the term suggests. In Vietnamese custom it is one of the highest honours to be asked to join someone's home to share a bowl of rice. This world premier is a unique show where six guests will be invited into my kitchen to wine and dine and to experience the warmth of a traditional Vietnamese hospitality. My guests will be immersed in the story telling of my family's daring escape from war-torn Vietnam to Hong Kong then Australia. The story is told while the knives are chopping and the wine is flowing.
This show is a real life story of escape, survival and success.
This show is a cooking class.
This show is a dinner party.
A night you will never forget!

Born in a wooden shack in a fishing village in Central Vietnam, I grew up in a refugee camp in Hong Kong for five years before immigrating to Adelaide. I became the first member of my family clan to ever attended university. I was awarded a scholarship to study international business in The Netherlands. After university I worked for a Fortune 500 company in London and Hong Kong before giving up my corporate life to return to Adelaide to raise my four sons on a cucumber farm. My love of food, wine and travel has lead me to creating this once off show.
