Afghans in Art
See the works of Afghan refugees in South Australia who have been mentored through the creative process and made into artists to express themselves and their life through an art exhibition, exhibition opening and artists talk.
This event consists of three distinct sessions:
11:00 am - 12:30 pm - Official Exhibition Opening:
Take in Afghan flavours with food and drink catered from Rumi Palace Restaurant, as part of the experience at the offical opening.

1:00 pm - 2:00 pm - Artists Talk
A discussion with the artists themselves. Learn more about refugees and their new links with visual arts.

Find out what it is like to walk in the shoes of a refugee, purchase artworks from new Afghan artists now part of the art scene in South Australia and support refugees at the same time.

Circle of Friends Australia Incorporated supporting refugees and asylum seekers in the community and in detention. Our entity welcome and assist asylum seekers and refugees with the difficult process of establishing themselves in Australia, or with the challenges of detention and the asylum application process. Our organisation undertakes a range of refugee support activity throughout a year, which has included supporting individuals in need of support through to assisting Afghan refugees fleeing the Taliban through to Ukrainian refugees escaping the war in Ukraine. Circle of Friends Australia is also a 100% volunteer run organisation meaning all funds raised go to those in need of support.
