80’s Kids Disco

Peter Baecker performs apparently average events, such as Parties, Disco’s, Roving performances and Theatre plays, which revolve around 80’s pop music.

By staging these seemingly ordinary events, he creates a room (often without actually creating one) where his happy energy is released and where the audience feels safe enough to let themselves free from convention and turn themselves into the happiest persons they can be at this moment.

Peter Baecker sees himself working in the tradition of the Fluxus movement, which "understand the work as a site of interaction between artist and audience" (John Cage).
