Under The Microscope is an Adelaide-based independent theatre company that aims to collaborate with emerging Australian artists, and design innovative and intimate theatrical spaces. In 2017, Under The Microscope produced the world premiere of 'Scarred For Life' by Josh Belperio under the mentorship of award-winning cabaret artists, Michael Griffiths and Amelia Ryan, funded by the Helpmann Academy. In the same year, they produced Josh Belperio’s anthem of queer rights during the Australian Marriage Law Plebiscite ‘Dear Malcolm Turnbull,’ which received over 200,000 views on social media and helped raise over $3,000 for QLife. Under The Microscope’s producing credits for the 2018 Adelaide Fringe include 'Mental As Everything' and 'Louise & Sally on Tin Pan Alley'.
Josh Belperio has 4,591 notes on his iPhone,
3,923 voice memos,
and scores of original compositions,
comprised of over 100,000 musical notes.
He also has 39 VHS home movies
that his Nonna left behind.
With an upright piano,
a virtual string quartet
and choir of 16,
watch Josh weave a story of finding love,
of finding who we can love,
and how we can carry with us those who are no longer here.
