Confessions of a Boba Liberalist–Nita is in the corner of a room drinking a bubble tea she is holding with two hands. Her long black hair is worn down and as she sips the drink she looks out of frame to the right. She is wearing a pale grey t-shirt and a pink cardigan with hot pink love hearts. Hanging on the cream walls that converge in a corner behind her hang rainbow coloured fairy lights.

Confessions of a Boba Liberalist

Bubble tea, K-pop, how to say "pho". Nita has some things that she needs to confess.

Warm, funny, thought-provoking and completely charming -- recommend to anyone interested in modern Australian and/or diaspora identities. There is audience interaction, but only of the gentlest kind! My one regret is going with my mum and aunty, because like most Asians I cannot openly weep in front of my family

I left feeling full from not only the soul food Juanita feeds to you, but from the healing that comes from being seen. Juanita masterfully strings together moments in her life starting from her early years, of what seems at face value like hilarious and ridiculous micro aggressions against her identity as a Vietnamese-Latina Australian. But strung together paints a picture of internalised racism in a country boasting multiculturalism. GENIUS!!
