An ideal late night show to soothe the soul, there is little talking in this performance as the artists let their music and dance speak for itself. The tunes are all performed on guitar by Raul Mannola, and we found all of it to be exquisite and relaxing. Every second song is accompanied by the dancing of Aylin Bayaz, who displays both strength and elegance with her performances, and contributes percussion with the rhythmic tapping of her shoes. Simply a beautiful and divine delight.

Hosted by the charismatic Paul Dabek, this variety show consists of circus, comedy, magic, and... well, some acts which simply defy definition. Each performance has a fun London/English theme, bringing a lot of quirkiness with it. Fast-paced and energetic, this was simply some of the must fun we've had at the 2024 Fringe so far!

If you thought this would just be drag performers lip-syncing to Disney songs, think again because this show is so much more. All the songs are original hilarious parodies, turning tunes from our childhoods on their heads. What if all the doodads the little mermaid found were sex toys, for example? All the performances are tied together with a fun narrative. This is a full on musical comedy that's incredibly entertaining, and highly recommended!
Singin in the Pain - Curtain call at a burlesque show. The host wears an orange suit and sits in their wheelchair laughing in the foreground, with a cast of various performers standing side by side in the background.

A cabaret show organised and performed by disabled and chronically ill artists. Much of the show is burlesque, with a bit of (excellent) singing and stand-up, and there wasn't a single dud. Each performance is built around that particular person's struggle, sometimes with humour, sometimes with sass, sometimes with anger, or combinations of these and more. Each performance felt very personal. An excellent show!

The sequel to the funniest political satire show I've ever seen at the Fringe, this hilarious update may be even better. Presented as a faux university lecture, the show aims to teach everyone how to be... well, a wanker. What entails is a vicious and hilarious mockery of Australian politics, capitalism, but especially corporate culture. Just be warned that you may not like it when you find out what people really mean when they say "as per my last email."
John Robertson: The Dark Room - The background of the image looks like an 80's game. Image of a man is screaming to the camera in the middle of the image. Around the square image there are options in each corner, which imply you must pick an option to move onto the next level.

A parody of Choose Your Own Adventure style games from the distant past. An interactive experience, players volunteer from the audience and then Robertson guides them on a "quest", with the choices and situations in the game becoming increasingly bizarre and surreal as it progresses. Robertson is amazing at crowd work, and kept the entire audience in stitches the whole time. Better than Assassin's Creed!
Yippee Ki Yay (the parody celebration of Die Hard) - Yippee Ki Yay The Parody Celebration of Die Hard is written on the right in large text, and there is a Nakatomi tower on the right

A poetic parody of the classic action film Die Hard, Re-told with sharp wit, ingenious rhymes, clever props, and a very entertaining Alan Rickman impression, this is an expertly performed show with charismatic performer Richard Marsh both making fun of and showing love for the film. A rather sweet romance story about two people brought together by their passion for the movie is also told in tandem. Great from start to finish!
Wonderfully Terrible Things - A curvaceous woman in black and gold lingerie stands in the middle of a group of performers also in lingerie. They are looking at her and she is staring at the camera.

As soon as Wonderfully Terrible Things begins, Cirque Songstress unveils her two biggest assets: her powerful voice, and her fantastic song writing ability. She is full of sharp, piercing wit and kept us laughing and mesmerised, though she's not for the faint of heart. It's not all songs, though! She's also a fantastic aerial artist, hence her name. What's even more impressive is that she effortlessly continues to sing while flying through the air. Fantastic show!

Now, this is a paint and sip like no other! Instead of a square canvas, we're given circular ones to paint a shiny disco ball. But the real magic happens around halfway through when the regular lights are switched off, the blacklights are turned on, the playlist switches to dancier tunes, and the neon paints come out. The artworks take on whole new dimensions with these glowing paints, and it's so much fun splashing them around while bopping to wicked 90s tunes.

VERY saucy circus, with spectacular acts. I was particularly a fan of the amazing Cirque Songstress who sings beautifully while seductively moving through the air. Also, they have the world's sexiest juggler. Oh, the host is also hilarious!
Zirque La La - Welcome to Zirque La La - Our hilarious and talented Ringmaster has his arms open in a 'Ta Da' pose. Other performers from the show are also showcased. Dancers, Clowns, Acrobats and more.

This troupe proudly proclaim to be from Queensland, but don't let that fool you! This is a world class act and one of the best circus shows I've seen at the Fringe. Incredible skills are shown, and I also loved the modern retro costumes. Entertaining from start to finish.
