Welcome to Dino-Club. Club members Hannah and Flic welcome the audience into their Dinosaur clubroom through a quick induction, instantly pulling everyone into their Dino-sized world. Dinosaur Time Machine is a brilliant family-friendly show and should be high on anyone’s “must see” list. Friends Hannah and Flic are obsessed with dinosaurs, and they use humour, circus tricks and brilliant stage-craft to work fact after fact into the script in a unique way. The pair work well together, bouncing off each other and interacting extremely well with the audience. The pace is fast and the gags come even faster. Through the use of simple props, the pair take us back in time to try and find a dinosaur. The magic of this show is in its simplicity. It’s not over complicated with massive sets or complex props and staging. It is all in the engaging presentation of Hannah and Flic, and the added bonus of Blue, the T-Rex. Yes, this show even has a giant T-Rex, with a highly unique call – you’ll have to see the show to hear that! Dinosaur Time Machine is a quick-moving show that squashes so much content into 50 minutes, not a moment is wasted or left dead. Perfect for ages 3 – 10, but as an adult, you’ll walk away having learned something new. I attended with my 6 year old daughter, who was laughing out loud through the whole show, and, I will admit, so was I. The car ride home was full of recounts from the show and reciting facts that had been learned. Dinosaur Time Machine will be playing at The Melba Spiegeltent in Gluttony until Sunday 20 March. Show times vary. Tickets through FringeTix or at https://adelaidefringe.com.au/fringetix/dinosaur-time-machine-af2022 .
