Firstly, a big thanks to the Adelaide Fringe for the media pass to cover the season! Despite the heatwave across this weekend, the Adelaide crowd came together at the Octagon at Gluttony to check out Primal!
From the creators of the infamous Rouge performance, Primal is a thrilling and cheeky circus experience designed exclusively for adults. Inspired by the raw energy of the animal kingdom and the complexities of human relationships, Primal provides a thrilling variety of circus and cabaret performances in a wild ride of acrobatics, cabaret, and dance.
Immediately setting the tone, a bearded lady-type persona showcased some powerful vocals as they sang with the thumping bass. You can really feel the notes in the chairs, which adds to the atmosphere inside the venue. The performers showcased their stage presence, charisma, and fitness as they bounced and balanced on each other wearing scantily clad outfits and unicorn masks. There were plenty of impressive stunts as the team performed fire twirling, sword swallowing, aerial dancing, and burlesque.
Overall, Primal is an impressive collection of raunchy circus performances. For an unforgettable experience, I recommend flying into Primal during the remainder of the Fringe season.
