Get your flouros on! Its Forever 80s – Back to the 80s in The Flamingo tent at Gluttony and didn’t we go back in time and have a blast! From the first moment of synth sounds to Prince’s 1999 it was non-stop hit after 80s hit. Seriously the 80s were the biggest (in my opinion) and best decade of music. And BIG it was.
The Forever 80s covered all the 80s hits and legends; Tina Turner, Whitney Houston, Bon Jovi, Bananarama, Kenny Loggins, Irene Cara, Depeche Mode, A-Ha, Eurythmics and more.
It only took thirty seconds into the first song for the crowd to get up and dance. The energy the band brought, you just couldn’t help but get up and dance. They sang to you like you were the only one in the room. They walked in the crowd and danced amongst us. They knew how to bring the 80s groove. There was a family sitting next to me who were conservatively sitting, bopping along in their seats…until….Whitney Houston’s I Wanna Dance With Somebody. GAME OVER! The whole tent was singing and (dirty) dancing, having “The Time of Their Life!” It was impossible not to move your feet!
The band consisted of Female Lead Misfit, Male Lead Blue Steel, JB StiXx on Drums, PC Heartbreaker on Keys and Van Whalin on Guitar. The costumes were total 80s Glam. Blue Steel had sharp vocals and a cool Adam Ant-like look, Misfit with a Cyndi Lauper-like 80s prom outfit rocked it with her phenomenal vocals and the rest of the band were absolutely amazing. When they all danced in sync with their crazy 80s grooves it was a trip down memory lane of the Minneapolis Funk era.
This show is not just for the 80s tragics, it’s an hour long dance-athon. The energy was so infectious, some pyrotechnics were thrown in as well that you couldn’t help but have a good time. Forever 80s – Back to the 80s could go way longer than the 60 minutes but even if it was 10 hours you still couldn’t fit in all the great songs of the most flamboyant, big haired, big energy decade.
