What happens when two acrobats fall in love? They create an achingly beautiful piece of theatre. Love Life Laundry shares the story of Anthony and Fay, from the comfortable routine of their life together, through the real story of Anthony’s fall during a performance and subsequent therapy and recovery from multiple spinal fractures.

The show begins by setting the scene of the mundanities of everyday life, using acrobatics to turn something as simple as sorting laundry and deciding what to wear into a beautifully choreographed sequence full of joy, companionship, and routine. The routines include acrobatics, aerial routines and dance, all telling a different part of the story. Despite the lack of dialogue (excluding a voiceover describing Anthony’s injury sustained in 2020), the couple’s acting makes the story crystal clear.

The most moving moments in the show were in regards to Anthony’s injury, not only in his perseverance towards recovery, but also Fay’s unwavering support during that time, showing an inner strength in both of them, reinforced by their love for each other.

It’s difficult to articulate just how stunning this show is, so you’d better get a ticket while you can — it has been announced that this will be the last year Anthony and Fay will be performing Love Life Laundry. Make sure you get along to their final season. I guarantee you will not regret it.
