Now this is a disco party that you wish would never end!

Agreeing 100% with the title of the show, Disco Wonderland by Release Creative and Andrew Kay is exactly that - an alternate universe that provides a form of escapism for a brilliant 60 minutes, where audiences can take a trip down memory lane and relive all the nostalgia that is attached to some of the best hits from the golden era of music.

With a show that can appeal to anyone from 16 to 60 and beyond, the show brings together a range of six vocal talents that were backed up by five-piece band Er@ser Description, each of whom expertly demonstrated their showstopping skills to get the audiences stomping their feet, accentuating their roaring applauses, and getting up to dance the evening away.

The illustrious (literally and metaphorically speaking) cast includes Paulini (from Australian Idol) and Timomatic (from Australia's Got Talent and So You Think You Can Dance), each of whom are able to showcase how their voices have no limit when it comes to hitting the highest of notes, in addition to performing solo and in a duet with the perfect synchronization and chemistry to make its impact on the audiences every single time. Backed up by South Australian talent, we are treated to singer Philippa Lynas, aerialist and singer Mark Stefanoff and dancer Amelia Sanzo, who are able to wrap the audiences around their fingers, as they captivate us with their cheeky and flirtatious actions, their dynamic energy, their hypnotizing choreography by Brendan Yeates (Hamilton, West Side Story, Matilda), their finesse to walk from one stage to the other in high heels, and just generally, give off the vibes of someone who not only wants to party but also encourages everyone to join in on the fun (in a COVID-safe manner, of course)!

Apart from wanting the cast's entire wardrobe of sequin and glitter, it's the facial expressions, the animated nature, the bright and shiny lighting, and the playful poise that are beautifully mixed together to elevate each voice and each performance in ways that will give you goosebumps. While the show may start off on a more poignant and passionate note with the likes of power ballads such as "I Will Survive", "If You Could from Read My Mind, Love", "Fantasy", and "Love to Love You, Baby", it doesn't take long to shift to a more fast-paced, upbeat and foot-tapping range of songs that include "YMCA", "All Night Long", "Can You Feel It", and of course, ending the show on a high note with a grand encore featuring an auditory and visual spectacle with the song "We Are Family".

From killer vocals to smooth moonwalking to strong aerials on hoops to insane dancing and everything in between, this show is a mesmerizing and multitalented piece of entertainment. It delivers a flawlessly-executed performance that is just right to get you in the mood for a boogie and a drink, as you take in the electric atmosphere that Fringe has on offer. Expect to see a (not-to-subtle) sultry performance or few and prepare to have your minds blown at what a real discoteque experience is all about!
