Calling all true crime enthusiasts! This is a tour you’ll enjoy, and the best part? You’ll get to indulge in your passion while getting some exercise at the same time. The tour typically lasts 90 minutes, so be prepared for a leisurely walk through Adelaide’s dark past.

The tour is a mix of storytelling, stand-up comedy, and historical narration, ensuring you have a relaxed and enjoyable experience. We gathered under the shade outside of the Rhino room. This was a slight relief, as it was still hot while the sun was going down. We brought water with us, so keep in mind that this show goes ahead, come light sprinkling of rain or shine; come prepared.

The tour is designed to be leisurely, ensuring you have a relaxed and enjoyable experience. There’s no rush, just a comfortable pace to take in the stories and the surroundings.

The first stop was an in-depth recount of Adelaide’s very own Dr Strangeglove, as the media nicknamed them at the time of their scandal. I knew about this crime as I’d followed it; however, I didn’t realise the intricate, shocking details. Yes, there were jokes in between, and I remember laughing at several of them, but I was surprised at how well Shayne combined the serious nature of the crime with his comedic talent.

The next place we stopped was not too far away, and as soon as we stopped, I knew the crime Shayne would talk about. I had followed this crime right from the beginning. I remember intently watching every news story and reading every article I could get my hands on. Due to this, there wasn’t much he could tell me I didn’t know. Interestingly enough, many in the group weren’t aware of this crime.

The last stop was a hike, so wear comfortable shoes: Adelaide’s most famous brothel and its illustrious owner. Funnily enough, it’s now a hostel. Once again, Shayne has done his research and some things he mentioned I didn’t know.

Entertaining for the true crime buffs, with some comedic relief.
