Enchant: With a wave of her magic fairy wand @violaverve of @violaverveproductions whisked the whole @nexusarts to an enchanted realm of fairies, nymphs, vampires, witches and all kinds of other fanciful enchanted things.

@violaverveproductions curated an amazingly talented array of performers who interpreted the theme of “Enchant” in wildly different but equally skilful ways. This was excellent for the audience who was treated to a show that included different styles of burlesque, pole dancing and contortion all in the theme of escapism to an enchanted land. The variety added depth and interest to the show.

The two stand outs for me in a very strong cast were @foxy.roxie_ & @bodaciousburly .

@foxy.roxie_ executed an epic Poison Ivy routine. She used her strength and flexibility to perfection to make shapes with her body that just shouldn’t be possible but gosh did she look good doing it. The routine was a showcase for @foxy.roxie_ strength and flexibility; specifically how hard work in the gym can translate to magic on the stage.

@foxy.roxie_ effortlessly dissolved into the character of Poison Ivy. She was strong, charismatic, clearly a villain but came across as someone who wanted you to think she was bad in the good way.

@foxy.roxie_ I am in constant awe.

In contrast @bodaciousburly was all about fun. She entered the stage in a giant inflatable unicorn costume. She pulled out two giant fans and was all about the color.

@bodaciousburly objective was spreading joy and she achieved it in spades.

@bodaciousburly was the bright unicorn escapism everyone needs right now.

@violaverveproductions set out to take her audience on an escape to an enchanted land in her show Enchant and in pleased to say that she did.

Enchant is an amazing achievement in magical escapism through dance that I thoroughly enjoyed and I would love to see again.

@violaverveproductions is an amazing producer and this was an amazing cast.

Enchant is on again tonight (the 8th!) at @nexusarts
