Stepping into The Magic Toyshop felt like entering a storybook brought to life. From the moment Meg and Penny began their search for the missing glove, the kids were completely captivated. We really liked that this show isn’t full of sensory overload—it’s the perfect choice for kids who might be experiencing their very first Fringe season.

The tent is on the smaller side, so you get to feel truly immersed in the show. There are plenty of seats, but we loved that there were rugs laid out on the ground for children to sit, move about, and truly feel comfortable. Meg and Penny were very accommodating to some of the kids who haven’t quite mastered the skill of sitting still cough my son cough for more than 10 minutes. This felt like a safe and welcoming space for all to enjoy the show however they wished.

There were plenty of interactive elements, from songs to dance and even a rainbow parachute for the kids to play with. The performers had a wonderful way of drawing in even the shyest little audience members, making sure everyone felt included. This show is ideal for families with young children, especially those under five who love interactive storytelling and music.

So whether your little one enjoys singing along, solving playful mysteries, or simply soaking up the magic of live theatre, The Magic Toyshop delivers a charming, educational experience. It’s a must-see for anyone looking to introduce their child to the joy of live performance in a welcoming and delightful setting.
