Comedy foursome Fully Charged are a set of cuties on a mission to save the world, the Fringe, sketch comedy and probably lots of other things they haven’t thought of yet. This is a quintessential fringe experience: give the young team a stage and let them do their thing. Is everything successful? Heck no. But will you laugh? Heck yes, and at times quite a lot too. And that’s the beauty of sketch comedy (come to think of it, that’s also the beauty of fringe): if you don’t like what you see, hang about, something else will be along in a minute.

There are flashes of brilliance. Jesus is a nepo baby (durr, of course he is), there’s a fresh take on the red pill/blue pill question, heaps of local references and some clever ad libs about the church bells that are a constant presence throughout the show. Even the bits that don’t quite work are made to make sense in a final ten minutes that pull the whole show together, where the breakneck pace and clever structure shows the real potential on display.

Business And Pleasure, Fool’s Paradise, until Thursday 27 February, 8.15pm.
