Pull on your sequined blazer and oversized sunglasses because This One’s For You is a musical rollercoaster that travels through the glittering, hit-packed world of Sir Elton John. Featuring three powerhouse vocalists belting out the best of the Rocket Man’s catalogue (and doing it in truly outrageous fashion), this show is an all-singing, all-dancing and bedazzling celebration of one of pop music’s greatest icons.

Kicking off with “Saturday Night’s Alright”, the talented crooners set the tone for the 60-minute extravaganza. With a setlist made up of Elton’s greatest hits, all the bangers are there, and then some!

Dressed in crisp white suits, the singers interlaced their songs with fun facts about Elton’s music and his life which added to the performance. From ballads like Your Song complemented with live piano to upbeat favourites like Crocodile Rock, not even a minor kazoo malfunction could stop the energy with audience members being encouraged to get up and dance to the boppier hits.

Each of the three vocalists brings their own magic, tackling Elton’s ballads and bangers with vocal chops that harmonised well with varying ranges and tones to suit the songs they were singing. They don’t just sing these songs—they embody them, complete with the kind of dazzle and showmanship that would make Sir Elton himself nod approvingly. It’s a feast for the ears, the eyes, and the part of your soul that just wants to dance and sing like no one’s watching.

A medley paying homage to the “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” album and farewell tour was a highlight, along with a moving rendition of “Candle in the Wind” – one of the highest selling singles of all time.

There’s also comedy, with a skit about which singer is going to sing the Elton part for the famous duet with Kiki Dee “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart” had the audience chuckling at the reveal.

It wouldn’t be an Elton show without a costume change and when the fellas come out in their pink sequins the second half kicks. “I’m Still Standing” got people on their feet and by the time “Rocket Man” soars you’ll be launched into the stratosphere.

This One’s For You is the ultimate tribute show. It’s fun, fabulous, and full of Elton-esque flamboyance.
