Much of what we (the audience) just witnessed, shouldn’t be possible. It certainly shouldn’t be attempted. Yet, somehow, these performers have mastered it. La Ronde is an incredible production of shocking, amazing, and awe-inspiring feats of human athleticism, ingenuity, and entertainment, and they’ll be the talk of the Adelaide Fringe Festival this year for sure.
Playing a jam-packed Spiegeltent, we were treated to wow-out-loud stunts, hilarious trickery, and performances of the finest caliber. As joint headliner of the 2025 Spiegeltent line-up, (alongside their sister-show LIMBO – The Return), it deserves to be said that La Ronde has set the bar for all similar shows to aspire to for this and coming years.
It’s difficult to comprehend that this is the world premiere season for La Ronde. Given the highly polished and finely tuned presentation, anyone would be forgiven for thinking that this is a show that has evolved and peaked during intense global touring.
Hailing from across all of Europe, the cast consists of some of the most talented performers of their kind. Their impressive stunt-work, comedic creativity, delivery, and timing, and their stage presence, all combine to lock in the audience’s attention and captivate the mind.
In a genre that is always close to being saturated and turning stale, these performers and their production team have produced an epic performance piece that is fresh, exhilarating, and highly entertaining. There’s no re-hashing of old tricks here, just innovative and astounding artistry.
La Ronde’s season lasts for the entirety of the Fringe, right up to Sunday March 23. And why wouldn’t they? With a show of this quality and appeal, they’ll be playing to many more sold-out audiences than not. Billed as one of the “must-see” shows of the 2025 Adelaide Fringe it’s a billing that’s accurate and well deserved.
Admission is well worth the ticket price, just make sure you get a good seat.
