Described in the advertising as the ‘dark underbelly of circus’ this production is raw and at times confronting. The setting is dark with shadowy shapes: a lone female enters, and dark figures appear aggressive and threatening, and the rough and tumble begins. The premise is a suburb in the not too distant future, ripe for chaos.

These wonderful acrobats keep the crowd’s attention through changing scenarios with varying equipment. Their balance and agility is formidable and they demonstrate a trust in each other than allows for some breathtaking moments. The five men and one woman demonstrate many circus skills among them juggling, tumbling, trapeze, cord lisse, pole climbing, bar work and even parkour.

The smooth changing of the equipment (with one hiccup – but it was opening night) was impressive. Watching them work together as a unit, fully supporting one another was great. Full marks also to the off-stage team creating the feel with sound and lights. I could give you a list of the feats they displayed, but instead I would recommend that you go see for yourselves.
