CULT SH!T, Grace Zhang’s first solo performance, is a humorous and satirical monologue that holds the key to falling in love with the world.

Upon entering intimate CBD venue, Alley Cat, the audience meet with a cross-legged Grace perched atop a minimalistic stage.

Illuminated by purple, low-lit lighting and accompanied by hymn-like sounds, Grace makes the audience feel like they are transcending.

By quitting her corporate job, going on a spiritual journey, backpacking through South-East Asia and smoking a whole lot of weed, Grace unconventionally discovers the secret to happiness and takes you along for the ride.

In her own words she is “the most healed bitch” and it is all thanks to Michael Jordan’s documentary, The Last Dance.

The premise of the docu-series is working towards something bigger than yourself, at which Grace hilariously admits “damn, I’ve never felt that in my life”.

The former Policy and Economics Consultant now turned “corporate dropout” changed her outlook on life; a transition that saw her go from “cat” to “dog” in personality.

While cats need a little stimulation to get happy, dogs are naturally ecstatic towards existence.

Her new-found appreciation for existing had her friends questioning whether she joined a cult.

Throughout Grace’s 60-minute deep-dive into dissecting the capitalist nightmare cult we call “the world”, it is obvious she is out here chasing her dreams and so should we.

No, CULT SH!T is not a cult, but what I do know is that “I am blessed”, “I am loved” and “this is the best show”.
