Like Harrison Ford in Raiders of the Lost Ark I approached my first escape room with trepidation. How hard could it be?

Collaborating with Adelaide Fringe and Gluttony, the Escapeneers have crafted a thrilling escape room experience taking players back-in-time to learn of SA’s amazing and revolutionary scientific history – and save the world!

With puzzles designed by Yuri Vilmanis (Senior Software Engineer at Maptek) and a lot of research and planning, upon entering, the small room looks deceptively simple, and is air conditioned.

Our experience was managed by Escapeneers Liam and Marcus who ensured we understood how the room worked and were available by walkie talkie if we needed a clue to move us on. They were extremely helpful and had a well-rehearsed banter with some clever ad libs thrown in.

Naturally I cannot reveal any of the puzzles in this review, I will say though that some are simple, and some are convoluted. This is as it should be, or we would be out of the room in five minutes.

This is the perfect Fringe filler. At only 20 minutes in the room, This is the perfect Fringe filler. At only 20 minutes in the room, it is easy to fit SA Inventors Escape Room into your busy schedule and maybe in one of the groups who solve the puzzles and escape back to the 21st Century!
