The cast of Interactive Theatre International brings a fully immersive, fully interactive live show where the chaos comes from all directions and you're part of the action1 Confetti and Chaos follows the unfolding events at a highly dysfunctional wedding reception of an equally dysfunctional family. Treating the audience as guests, this wedding is equal parts unhinged and unpredictable. No one is safe from the antics, as the actors make their way through the tables to bestow titles on their guests; you never know if you’ll become extended family, long lost relative or best friend. The unfolding disaster is a cathartic, hilarious adventure. All the stereotypes of the wedding from hell are here: overbearing mother-in-law, inappropriately cheeky father-in-law, clueless groom, anxious bride, and a wildcard best man. From gate-crashing relatives to risque public confessions, the actors swap roles and drop in and out of the show with effortless comic timing and quick change of wardrobe. And the scenarios they come up with are gut-bustlingly funny to boot (the skit with Grandma's ashes left me breathless). If you have complex feelings about your own family, these characters will make you count your blessings. Complete with a delicious three-course meal and in-house bar, we receive brief moments of intermission with the actors never breaking character. The quieter moments allow them to get up close and personal with their guests and work their improv to hilarious effect. My plus one was lucky to be declared the bride's best friend and became the focal point of a massive beef between aunties. Confetti and Chaos is ultimately an uproarious two-hour stitch-up, one of the most unique comedy experiences I've ever had. It’s a wild, unpredictable night of improvised laughter. There’s nothing quite like it at the Fringe! FIVE STARS ***** Reviewed by Justine Hall
