After his horrific accident in 2022, Hans has made his triumphant return to the Fringe, and it’s clear to see that he was missed. Performing to a packed tent in Gluttony, Hans treated the audience to a sixty-minute disco spektakulär filled with sequined outfits, accordion playing, brilliant banter, backup dancers and of course, Tina Turner. Disco Spektakulär is a whirl-wind sixty minutes packed with disco hits, high energy choreography and some of the funniest banter and commentary that I have heard in a long time. Hans is Fringe, Adelaide and Cabaret royalty. He is entertaining, engaging and doesn’t hold back. Backed by two excellent backup dancers (The Lucky Bitches) and two extremely talented musicians (The Ungrateful Bastards) Hans gave his all in the sweltering conditions in The Flamingo. The show is high energy and is sure to have you dancing along. If I had half the energy of Hans, I’d be happy! Hans is a Fringe favourite, and it’s clear to see why he sells out wherever he performs. His personality oozes off the stage. No one in the audience is safe as Hans loves to roam the venue interacting with his adoring fans. Don’t let the 6.30pm time-slot fool you into thinking this is a family show — it’s not. If you have never seen Hans perform live, you must. Grab whatever tickets are left and prepare to be dazzled.
